Born and raised just outside Detroit, Tom headed west to The University of Iowa due mostly from its status as “The Writing University.” (That and he fell in love with Iowa City the second he set foot on campus). As an undergraduate, Tom covered several sports for The Daily Iowan, graduating in 2013 with a bachelor of arts degree in Journalism & Mass Communications from the SJMC.
After several years putting his degree from Iowa to good use in jobs at various New York and Boston start-ups, Tom returned to the University a decade later, receiving an MBA from the Tippie College of Business in 2023.
Tom currently lives with his wife and daughter in Metro Detroit.
